A new Defender 130 includes three full rows of seats and an eight-passenger capacity. Starting at $69475 for the Defender 130 S utilizes the same 118.9-inch wheelbase as the 110, but with a 13.4-inch longer body. The base engine is not the 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder, but a detuned version of the 3.0-liter turbo/supercharged 6-cylinder hybrid; with 296 horsepower and 347 pound-feet of torque, it confusingly is also called “P300,” since it shares the same horsepower as the smaller engine, but with more torque. The Defender 130 doesn’t offer a V8.

The air suspension with adaptive shock absorbers, optional on 90 and 110, is standard on 130. Four-zone air conditioning is exclusively offered on the 130.

On the 130, automatic high beam assist is standard.

The base model of the 90 is discontinued, leaving the S as the entry-level, priced at $56575. The X-Dynamic S with the 395-horsepower 6-cylinder is eliminated, but a new SE with the same engine is introduced. The Defender 90 and 110 X-Dynamic HSE are also discontinued. The 110 XS is discontinued.

A 75th Anniversary Edition celebrates the beginning of the Land Rover brand.

Unlike the previous Range Rover plug-in, the P440e utilizes Land Rover’s new 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder that is both turbocharged and supercharged, over the previous 2.0 4-cylinder turbo.

The Range Rover Sport is almost completely new for 2023.  The clearest visual indicators are the flush door handles, but all of the sheet metal, the grille, bumpers, headlights, and taillights are all new. The wheelbase is now 118 inches, almost three inches longer. Overall length is 2.6 inches longer, at 194.7. The New Range Rover Sport is on the same platform as the New Range Rover short-wheelbase.

The P355 and P400 powertrains remain unchanged, with 355 and 395 horsepower, respectively. An 8-speed automatic, standard 1-speed transfer case all-wheel drive, and an optional 2-speed transfer case with a 2.93:1 reduction gear low gear, are all unchanged.

The P440e marks the return of a plug-in hybrid powertrain, this time based on the 3.0-liter turbo and supercharged 6-cylinder.

The 5.0-liter supercharged V8 from the Ford era is replaced by a BMW 4.4 twin-turbocharged V8. This results in the replacement of the P575 and SVR models with the P530 First Edition. The P530 produces 523 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque.

The “Sport” name makes more sense, now; as the New Range Rover offers a long-wheelbase model with three seating rows, the New Range Rover Sport is now strictly a 5-seat vehicle.

A new R-Dynamic HST becomes the top of the line, with a heated suede steering wheel, ebony suede headliner, leather/suede seats, air suspension with adaptive shocks, heads-up display, 21-inch wheels, and the 395-horsepower 6-cylinder, all standard. The R-Dynamic Black Pack is also standard, with black wheels, trim, and badges. The HST is the only path to the 396-horsepower motor.

3D Surround Camera, Park Assist (automated parking), massaging front seats, four-zone climate control, and 20-way power seats are no longer available.
